We snuck away for a weeknight in Wine Country and had the pool allllllll to ourselves. We stayed at The Hotel Healdsburg and the location was perfect; right on the square. Now that we’re fully vaccinated, I’m getting excited about some long overdue travel this summer! Until then, I’ll be patiently waiting and filling my cart with caftans and cover-ups for beach and pool season. I usually lean towards pieces that are minimal and muted in color. It makes me feel a bit more put together when I’m carrying my son’s half-eaten hot dog around and slathering him in sunscreen. Here’s a round-up of my favorites…
// This organic cotton dress works as a cover-up and a casual, but chic option for dinner on the beach. I’d wear it unbelted to keep it feeling a bit more modern.
// I love how light and floaty this cover-up looks (it’s a blend of cotton and linen). A bit on the sheer side, which is the perfect weight if you’re going somewhere humid and want to beat the heat, but still look cool.
// I feel like if you wear this one, people will think you have a yacht parked somewhere nearby and isn’t that really the look we’re all going for?
// I just scooped this striped cutie up (it’s $18!!!) and plan to wear it unbelted with a black bathing suit and enormous sunglasses. Done and done.
// This is a beautiful linen gauze and it has pockets, so I’m not sure what else I really need to say? POCKETS, people! Pockets.
// The neckline on this cover-up feels very Jackie O marries Greek shipping magnate. Add gold jewelry, a tan and a shockingly chilled glass of white wine.
// I wore this caftan on our trip to Wine Country and I’ll be wearing it A LOT this summer. It looks like I’m going to a members only beach club, which is exactly the kind of energy I want to channel while I’m waiting in line at the snack bar to get my son a Chipwich. (It also comes in a short version. And here’s a good dupe in blue!)
+ 9 // I wore this hat on our trip, but I love how classic the black banded version is. Really digging the stitching on these sandals, and the price (they’re $60!).
