Wedding Weekend in The Bahamas

The Far & Near, Travel Guide to The Bahamas by Dulci Edge

We spent a lovely weekend in the Bahamas celebrating the marriage of friends. We were admittedly lazy and spent most of our time on the beach, rather than exploring, but if you find yourself in the New Providence area check out The Island House. The property is brand new, and the staff is gracious and warm. The rooms were spacious and lovely, with bathrooms larger than most New York City apartments. The Coffee Bar serves Intelligentsia coffee, home-baked pastries and curry chicken sandwiches for lunch. The Mahogany House  has an eclectic menu with something for everyone. The pizzas are shareable and perfect for lunch. For dinner, do not miss Shima. Some of the most delicious Thai food I've had and I still dream of their spicy green curry. Reservations a must.

Note: The Island House has no beach access, but offers a massive pool for frequent dipping.
