WHERE TO EAT

Il Villagio Osteria (located in the Terra Hotel) is a favorite for homemade pastas and hearty Italian fare, making it the perfect place to pack on all those pounds you think you just skied off. 

Snake River Grill is a Jackson classic, so make reservations well in advance (especially during ski season!). This is the spot to order wild game (Venison, Elk, Bison, Oh my!) But, don't you dare miss their famous onion rings. 

Breakfast at Persephone Bakery is not to be missed; housemade pastries, toasts and omlets are divine. The hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows is perfect on a cold day.

Silver Dollar Bar at The Wort Hotel is the place for people watching; especially on a night with live music (There will be line dancing. You will be thrilled.). They have an inventive and reasonably priced cocktail list, plus local brews on tap and a bar menu serving late. 

If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, Sudachi is a solid option for sushi.

The Million Dollar Cowboy is the closest thing Jackson has to a tourist trap, but it's all in good fun. Saddle up to the bar (the barstools are actually saddles...) and order their house ale, brewed just for them by Grand Teton Brewing Co.

For après ski, look no further than The Mangy Moose Saloon. Located at the base of Teton Village, this is where everyone comes to talk about powder, steeps and back country bowls. The food isn't anything to write home about, but that's not really the point.

I pretty much never get tired of Mexican. Hatch is located in town and offers delicious margaritas and tacos. Just what I want after a day on the slopes!

If you’re renting a house, The Aspens Market is pricey, but has a great selection of gourmet groceries (and some killer guacamole). Otherwise, Albertson’s in town is your best bet for stocking the pantry.

WHERE TO STAY

The Wort Hotel is located in the town of Jackson, which is only a few tumbleweeds short of a shoot-out at high noon. Conveniently located walking distance to the majority of bars, shops and restaurants, The Wort was the first hotel in town back in 1941 and remains a favorite. 

The Anvil Hotel is a former motel that got the hipster treatment and a slick of charcoal paint. The rooms are itty bitty, but the price is right and the on-site restaurant, Glorietta, has some of the best food in town.

The Four Seasons has a spectacular ski-in/ski-out location with comfortable rooms and a killer apres scene (check out The Handlebar for amazing nachos). The service here is truly unparalleled.

Hotel Jackson offers guests a decidedly more luxe take on cowboy. Most rooms feature gas fireplaces and breakfast is complimentary. Shuttles to nearby ski mountains are available during the season. 

Hotel Terra has an unbeatable ski-in, ski-out location at the base of Teton Village. The rooms in the main building felt a little cramped, but the terrace and gas fireplace are nice touches. 

Just a bit down the road is Fireside Resort. Cozy cabins and a short drive to the slopes make it the perfect place for a Winter escape. Great with kids.

Won the lottery? You can't beat the Amangani. Perched high on a mountain, it's a drive to town or the slopes, but the views are incredible. Tip: The bar and restaurant are open to non-guests. Check out their lounge for a sunset cocktail. 

WHAT TO DO

Jackson Hole is a year round playground with a little something for everyone. For fly fishing, Grand Fishing Adventures is the best in town. Their float trips are fantastic, but what sets them apart is their access to private waters. 

Come Winter, it's all about skiing. Jackson Hole Mountain is known for it's rough and rugged terrain, making even advanced skiers tremble in their boots. If it's your first time, book a lesson through their outstanding ski school. For milder steeps, Snow King and Grand Targhee are both regional mountains within driving distance. 

Yellowstone Park is a short drive away, offering camping and hiking in the Summer, or snowmobiling in the Winter.
